ABOUT • As a runner and former Marine, I’ve always had a passion for pushing my physical and mental boundaries so I naturally became interested in ultra-marathons and Ironman distance triathlons. The only problem for considering an Ironman though was that I wasn’t a strong swimmer. So, in 2009 I decided I’d get to work on overcoming that and registered for a 70.3 as my first ever triathlon.
My hope was that the looming reality of having to swim 1.2 miles would be the necessary catalyst for my commitment to getting in the pool. It worked and resulted in an uncomfortable amount of time in the pool (probably often looking like I needed to be saved) and my success in crossing my first 70.3 finish line in Cambridge, MD and many other finish lines since. I’ve been an advocate of the approach of always reaching further than you’d think possible ever since.
COACHING SPECIALTY • Coming to my own realization of how amazing it feels to achieve something that you never thought possible and the impact that it can have on your life is what led me to coaching – I thrive on helping others realize their own potential for success. Considering this, I really enjoy working with both beginners and first time Ironman athletes.
